This Book “Comparative Effect of an entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana and certain indigenous products in the management of Agro-ecosystem insect pests” exploratory studies about entomorpathogenic fungus Beaveria bassiana as biological control agent for controlling the larvae of Crucifers crops pest. On the other hand, certain indigenous products can be effectively managed the insect pests. The chemical insecticide along with the least effective indigenous products gave complete management of insect pests; therefore, these indigenous products can be efficiently exploited in the pest management programmes, due to their significant and deleterious impact on the life of the insect population. Beauveria bassiana and certain indigenous products significantly controlling the pest population in lab as well as in field condition. But the chemical insecticides are very hazardous to our flora and fauna. The Beauveria bassiana and certain indigenous products are non-pollutants and ecofriendly. Apart from being ecofriendly this approach will reduce the pest population. This alarming situation has warranted to identify such alternative methods that are comparatively safer and do not upset agro-ecosystem. Among alternatives the future of indigenous products and entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana in modern concepts of IPM system appears to be very promising as they are bio control agent and bio-degradable in nature and much safer to higher animals including humans because of their low mammalian toxicity. But it still needs more investigation to be conducted in this regard for proper recommendation.
